Entry from: Agra, India Entry Title: "The Taj Mahal" Entry: "On the train from Amritsar to Agra, to see the Taj Mahal, Lisa and I were hoping the train would be late, like most of ours had been so far. The train was scheduled to arrive at around 1am and I was planning to get up at 5am to see the Taj at sunrise. If the train was a few hours late we could stay in our train beds, and save us from trying to find a hotel or walking the streets all night. Though what we did not know was we had gotten on a train with the only punctual public transport driver in India. We arrived on time and on deciding neither of the above options sounded like much fun and seeing the people sleeping on the platform, we thought we would make good use of our sleeping bags we had been carrying around without use since our since our retreat in Bodh Gaya. We somehow had a pleasant nights sleep and even slept in a little, which turned out alright since when we arrived at the gate we discovered it didn't open until 7am (Lonely Planet had said 6am). We had breakfast on a rooftop in the area the artist who built the Taj lived, from there we watched the sunrise and shine on the magnificent mausoleum.
